Academic Achievement and Income

Because the school boundaries for public schools in Vancouver are created independantly of Stats Canada Dissemination Areas, a new generalized layer of Vancouvers school boundaries was created that was based on DAs. DAs were placed into school boundaries where the majority of their area was located. Because there are many natural breaks for catchment areas and DA in Vancouver, such as major roads and parks, the new generalized layer was not significantly different from the Original school boundaries. This generalization allows for a much simpler computation of statistics without sacrificing much accuracy.
