Because the spatial pattern of gender gaps for English and Math follow a similar pattern to that of average exam mark, a focus on the improvement of grades at schools may be able to decrease the gender gap in different subjects. The interesting results that did not meet our hypothesis, however, require that future studies look into gender gap as a potentially separate issue. Because this was only a preliminary study that was meant to explore a generalized pattern of academic achievment, only one independent variable, income, was used to explain the spatial pattern of academic achievement through regression. As a result, a significant increase in explainitory variables my be used to increase the accuracy of these results. Also, changes in economic data through census collection may be used as well to look for changes in school performance based on changes in economic well-being. Finally, to increase the accuracy of this particular study, the 2011 economic census data should replace the current 2006 census data.
